It’s set to be a busy weekend in Cullman County!
We love this season at Weichert, Realtors® – Carter & Company; there’s so much going on. You’ll be sure to run into one of us at these fun October events.
On Saturday, October 21st, pull on your boots and bring the family out to Peinhardt Living History Farm. Created to introduce traditional agricultural life to modern families, Peinhardt opens its doors (or gates!) to the public every October.
Everyone should have the chance to experience farm life, even for just a day. Try your hand at milking a cow or making soap, or learn how to split a rail. Kids will love the animals, slingshots, and antique tractors!
Food vendors, live music and hayrides make for a good, old-fashioned day of fun.
Also on Saturday, Hanceville hosts the 8th annual Mud Creek Arts and Crafts Festival. This is a great downtown fair, with talented vendors, food and music. Along with a tour of historic Hanceville homes (as Realtors®, we think this may be the best part of the festival!), you’ll have a chance to view the work of some incredible local artists in the juried art show. Keep an eye out for a young, up-and-coming painter, Will Davis Simmons. This event promises to be good for the spirit!
Head out to Old MacDonald’s Gourd Farm on Saturday and Sunday, for the 2017 Alabama Gourd Show.
A whole show? For gourds?
This event throws a spotlight on the amazing artistry that goes into growing, decorating and utilizing the humblest of fruits, the gourd. Local gourd aficionados will showcase their own work, as well as unique collections from all across the world. Musical instruments, decorative items, toys and agricultural masterpieces will be on display. The event is always delightful, and worth a visit.
Cullman County has such a strong community spirit! We’re proud to call it home. Come out and enjoy these Fall activities with Weichert, Realtors® – Carter & Company, and all of your Cullman neighbors.
